Data Sharing Policy

Data Sharing Policy

International Journal of Surgery and Clinical Research (IJSCR), recognize the importance of data sharing in promoting scientific transparency, reproducibility, and collaboration. Our data sharing policy aims to facilitate the responsible and ethical sharing of research data. The following guidelines outline the principles and procedures followed:

Data Availability

International Journal of Surgery and Clinical Research (IJSCR) encourage authors to make their research data openly available and authors may provide a data availability statement, including a link to the repository where the data is stored. This statement will be published in the article to ensure transparency and accessibility for readers and researchers.

Data Types

The data-sharing policy of IJSCR encompasses all relevant data associated with the published manuscript, including but not limited to raw data, processed data, supplementary data, code scripts, and metadata. The data may comprise quantitative measurements, qualitative observations, clinical records, survey responses, images, and any other relevant data forms.

Data Repositories

Authors must deposit their research data in established and appropriate data repositories. These repositories should be discipline-specific or have sufficient infrastructure and standards for data duration, long-term storage and access. IJSCR recommends the use of recognized and reputable repositories.

Data Access

Authors should provide clear instructions on how to access the shared data, including the repository name, accession numbers, and any specific access restrictions, if applicable. In the manuscript, authors should include a Data Availability Statement that details where and how the data can be accessed.

Data access that is available upon request. E-Mail the Corresponding Authors or Main Author for the manuscript to request the relevant data.

Data Citation

All data that are publicly available and used in the writing of manuscript should be cited in the text and the reference list – whether they are data generated by the author(s) or by other researchers. Proper citation and acknowledgment of the data source should be provided, enabling other researchers to credit the original authors.

Preprints

The journal allows preprints, where a version of the manuscript is made publicly available online before peer review. Preprints become part of the scientific record and are citable with their own unique ID. This ensures that the research is disseminated promptly and can benefit the broader scientific community.

Exceptions and Restrictions

International Journal of Surgery and Clinical Research (IJSCR) acknowledges that certain circumstances may warrant restrictions on data sharing, such as ethical constraints, proprietary data, or sensitive information. In such cases, authors should provide a clear justification for the restrictions in the manuscript. If possible, offer a mechanism for interested researchers to request access to the data directly from the authors.

International Journal of Surgery and Clinical Research (IJSCR) remains committed to fostering a culture of transparency, accessibility, and ethical data sharing that benefits researcher and the scientific community at large.
